The management of the envenomed patient is always best informed by the clinical picture presented, and elsewhere is provided a guide to special considerations to make during the assessment. There are, however, some considerations which also need to be made in the management of envenomation. In particular, these relate to resuscitation, neurotoxicity, myolysis, coagulopathy and renal failure. Anaphylaxis is a special case of a sequela to envenomation and is dealt with separately.
