The curl snake, also known as the myall snake, reaches a maximum body length of around 60 cm. It is dark brown or reddish brown, with a distinctively darker head. It hunts nocturnally, preying on small lizards and frogs. It responds to a threat by either moving about violently and erratically, or else by curling itself up tightly with its head protected. Its venom is neurotoxic and could be dangerous to humans, especially small children.
