Daddy Long Legs (Pholcus phalangoides)

what does this mean? show the distribution of this species

Daddy-long-legs spiders are commonly found in houses. They build webs in dark areas, and prey on small insects and other arthropods. The bite is generally considered harmless, although minor local reactions to bites have been described. It has been suggested that the belief that this spider's venom is extremely dangerous arises from observations of individuals attacking and subduing redback spiders (whose venom is known to be dangerous to humans).
