| Professor P. Gopalakrishnakone, Chair of the Venom and Toxin Research Program at the National University of Singapore and AVRU Principal Fellow, was elected as President of the International Society of Toxinology for the period 2009-2012. Gopal, as he is known, is one of the worlds preminent toxinologists, with extensive experience in both clinical aspects of venomous bites and stings in Asia as well as in laboratory based venom research.
