It is intended as an approximate guide only, in order to check consitency with data from distribution and the venom detection kit. When determining the species reponsible for envenomation, all these aspects should be taken into account, and any apparrent inconsistencies considered very carefully.
It is important to remember that effects of envenomation can vary as a result of a wide number of factors, and that consequently any generalisations about the clinical picture of envenomation must be regarded as such - generalisations - and careful judgement exercised.
