The peninsula brown snake is restricted in its distribution to parts of the Eyre Peninsula and nearby islands. It is usually a dark brown colour with spots on its underside. It has been recorded as reaching two metres long but typically grows to a little over a metre. It is considered unlikely to bite but its close relation to dangerous species means that it should still be considered a threat.
