Australia's venomous creatures

Australia is inhabited by many venomous creatures. Many live on the land and include snakes (8 of the world’s 10 deadliest land snakes), spiders and insects. However Australia’s oceans are also home to many venomous creatures including jellyfish, stinging fish and sea snakes. Below is a list of those creatures whose venom is known to harm man and animals.

Snakes:
Black snakes, brown snakes, copperheads, death adders, fierce snakes, rough scaled snakes, sea snakes, taipans, tiger snakes.
Arthropods:
Funnel web spiders, redback spiders, white-tailed spiders, mouse spiders, bees, beetles, centipedes, millipedes, scorpions, stinging ants, ticks, wasps, caterpillars.
Marine creatures:
Blue ringed octopuses, cone snails, jellyfish, sea snakes, stinging fish, stingrays, stonefish
