Mouse spiders

Pressure-immobilisation is not currently recommended for mouse spider bites. Although in cases of a rapidly progressive illness it may provide some benefit.

Medical Treatment Clinical experience is very limited. Most bites appear not to result in envenomation. A small number of cases where a severe illness followed have been reported. One small child developed a funnel web-like envenomation syndrome which improved after treatment with funnel web spider antivenom.

Antivenom It is difficult to make a recommendation based on one case, but funnel web spider antivenom could possibly be useful in cases of severe envenomation by Missulena.
