Abstract

Fatal snake bite (P.N.G.); snake not positively identified but victim said it was a small-eyed snake; vomited, difficulty in breathing, unconsciousness; no clinical evidence of coagulation defect; no response to death adder antivenene; small-eyed snake is common in the area, attains large size, more frequently encountered at night; fatalities from this snake have been recorded.
