This series comprisespPublished papers and letters - originals, reprints and photocopies - assembled by Struan Sutherland. Also included are some photographs, correspondence, drafts, references and other material related to publications.

Many papers and letters appeared in Medical Journal of Australia.

Papers were often filed under an abbreviation of the paper title, with month & year of publication also noted. The card with abbreviated title has been kept and inserted in each file. The full item title has been entered in Inventory title. Multiples of reprints and ancillary papers have not been imaged.

Series 5 General Correspondence - Subject Files

Box 1 and 2: Working files related to the early days of AVRU including business plan, funding campaign, pr and scientific work & publications (including later CSL work). (Mainly 1993 - 1996).
Box 3 and 4: Correspondence files. (Mainly 1994 - 1998).
They include ant venom research material, responses to general enquiries, & correspondence in relation to campaign for continued support/funding for venom research. Files are arranged in alphabetic order. There are a number of miscellaneous correspondence files e.g. E (correspondents whose surnames begin with E). As well as correspondence issued by Sutherland, some letters issued by Ken Winkel & Gabrielle Hawdon are included.

Series 6 Slide Collection

Loosely organized and labelled collection held in slide pockets and slide boxes. Items 312 - 316 appear to be of provenance Ken Winkel.

Material used for presentations, papers and reference. Includes data analysis and images of venomous creatures - snakes, spiders, marine creatures and insects.
Some material is of sensitive nature.

This series comprises research protocols, references, raw data and data analysis from work by Sutherland and his Research Assistants.

Box 1: CSL antivenom survey usage & reaction (1990 - 1994) & snake bite PNG.
Box 2 and 3: Toxin tests on monkeys, mice & rabbits (1960 - 1995, mainly 1978 - 1982).
Box 4 and 5: Application of immunoassay techniques to venom research (1970 - 1994, mainly c. 1992).
Box 6: Antibody development in herpetologists & ant venom project (1960 - 2001, mainly 1990s).
