Advanced Medical Science (AMS) Student En’en is a third year undergraduate medical student (MBBS/B.Med.Sc.) at the University of Melbourne. She is undertaking a year of research as part of the course requirements under the supervision of Dr. Roger Lowe and Dr. Ken Winkel. The focus of her research will be on the toxinological analysis of some Australian scorpion venoms. Her interest in toxicology stems from fascination with forensic science. She chose this project in order to experience a laboratory-based environment, as opposed to clinical research in hospitals, as well as the opportunity to try something different from the standard medical course. |

She is still unsure as to what field to specialize in after graduating, but is keeping her options open. She is currently considering general practice or forensic pathology. |
